Erica-Kane-AttorneyErica Elizabeth Kane, Esq. joined the Murphy Law Group in March of 2015.  Erica has had an extensive interest in civil rights and social justice-related issues since her undergraduate studies at Saint Joseph’s University, where she graduated Cum Laude from the university’s honors program.  In 2011, Erica received departmental honors designation for her intensive research on gender-based violence.  In addition, Erica volunteered with the Saint Joseph’s University Rape Education and Prevention Program, advocating for Title IX enforcement on college campuses.    

During law school, Erica’s course studies included employment discrimination, sex discrimination, complex litigation, and feminist legal theory.  Outside of the classroom, Erica participated in the Employment Law Society, and founded Villanova’s chapter of Law Students for Reproductive Justice, for which she served two terms as President.  In 2012, Erica was awarded a Walter Lucas Public Interest Fellowship for her work with Philadelphia Legal Assistance. 

Erica was an active member of the Villanova School of Law Moot Court Board, and argued in the final round of the Villanova’s annual Theodore L. Reimel Moot Court Competition as a second year student.  During her third year of law school, Erica served as the Board’s Reimel Competition Director.  Erica participated in the 2014 Vanderbilt First Amendment Competition and 2013 Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition as well, and received recognition for co-authoring one of the Jessup competition’s highest-scoring briefs. 

Prior to joining the Murphy Law Group, Erica clerked for a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Erica is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Erica resides in Wayne, Pennsylvania, a suburb located on Philadelphia’s main line.  Erica enjoys yoga, traveling, and supporting numerous charitable organizations, most notably, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and the National Bone Marrow Donor Program.
